Our Queens

In memory of our most special boys

God looked around His garden, And found an empty place. He then looked upon the earth. And saw your tired face. He put His arm around you, and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never. Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough. And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your eyelids. And whispered, "Peace be thine." But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you Home.

Rummy-Joykatz Rumsfeld

Heartbreakingly, we lost our dear Rummy boy on September 9, 2007.  He passed from complications from pancreatitis.  Unfortunately, as in most cases of feline pancreatitis, we have no idea of the cause.  The loss of Rummy to us is beyond words.  He was loved and treasured like a human child.  He was in essence, our daughter Emily's little brother.   Rummy was approximately 40 lbs. and just one of those one in a million pets.  He did not look like a Savannah.  One of our dear friends, Julian Robertson, coined the description that fit him best -- he was his own new breed.  He was one of the largest Savannahs ever produced and his breeder never made another.  He was an anomaly.  We shall always miss him, forever.
